In This Body: Winter 2023 Dates Announced!

We are pleased to announce that In This Body is coming back in Winter 2023, now at 7 weeks in length instead of 5 to give us even more space to join in community to do this important work.

Winter can be a rough time for bodies. With the onslaught of toxic messages that demand we focus on shrinking, we take a stand to say “No more!”. We join together to work on decolonizing our minds, de-centering diet culture in our lives and turning toward our bodies with gentleness and compassion.

What is In This Body?

In This Body is a 7 week online embodiment process group. What does that mean? It means we meet every Thursday and spend part of our time on psychoeducation/didactic portion and the rest of the time we have an open process time where in community we discuss prompt questions, share our experiences and stories, and begin to question toxic notions that may have crept up into our minds as a result of living in diet culture. Together, we create a space for questioning, sharing, airing, and healing.

Do you or someone you love struggle with embodiment, relationship with food or finding peace in the bodies they have?

My colleague, who is a anti-diet, HAES-aligned therapist and I are joining forces again to run this group. This is the fifth time we are running it and we are thrilled to continue to do this incredible work with our clients in Washington state.

Our focus is to explore our relationship with our bodies and food, and to begin planting seeds of healing. Away from diet culture, beauty standards and other things that get in the way of embodiment and joy.
